Tuesday 15th June was just similar whatsoever other day until that evening when my waters broke. I couldnt believe it would exist my waters because I was merely 24+two weeks significant.

At 2 weeks erstwhile he got NEC. An infection and inflammation of the bowel where he needed life saving surgery. He was too poorly to go to theatre so they had to operate on the unit which they've only done iii times in 5 years.
Rory lost half his bowel and had a stoma fitted for xi.5 weeks! That was the single nearly scary 24-hour interval of our lives!
Following on from that he has had 3 lumber punctures, 14 blood transfusions, 6 farther blood products, countless blood test and canulas, sepsis four times, PDA (hole in the center), chronic lung disease, congregated jaundice, been on half-dozen different animate supports, aggressive ROP, injections in his eyes, 3 lots of laser eye surgery, MRSA, enlarged ventricles, concerns virtually too much fluid around his tiny encephalon.
Despite all this he is withal here and still fighting on! He is an absolute warrior! He has shown strength and courage that we accept never seen, yet, exist the smallest most incredible person always! We will forever be in awe of him and forever grateful that he has fought so hard to complete our family!

Our latest blow is that Rory is not growing enough. Despite being absolutely well in every other way, including coming off the breathing support, he is but also small for his historic period. Because he lost half his bowel, he hasn't been able to blot all the nutrients needed to aid him grow. As a issue, if he came home and got poorly, he has zip in reserve to lose any weight and won't exist able to catch upward equally he doesn't have the ability. So he had to have some other surgical procedure to have a hickman line inserted into his chest to be on a constant drip called TPN to aid him grow.
