Preserve Your Memories With A DIY Wedding Shadow Box
Tomorrow is David and my five-year anniversary! As cliche equally it sounds, time really does fly. I didn't have a blog to share all of my DIY wedding projects back then, but boy did I do a lot of them!
After a beautiful 24-hour interval celebrating our marriage, I wanted to preserve our nuptials mementos in a meaningful style. It seems like a shame to box upward all of our pretty wedding things and put them in a closet or something, so I came up with the thought to display them in shadow boxes.
These shadow boxes hang in our bedroom as a abiding reminder of our special solar day and all of the love and fun we had. If your wedding things are tucked away somewhere, how about digging them out and framing them?

DIY Wedding ceremony Shadow Box
As I was cleaning up things later on our wedding, I found myself left with all of these mementos:
They are special things that I wanted to keep to remember the twenty-four hour period by. The extra material from my apparel forth with my jewelry and garter. The DIY boutonniere I made for David. The honey notes we exchanged during our first wait photos.
The invitation and ceremony plan, along with the bubbling our guests blew equally we exited the church smile from ear to ear. The paper bags from our candy buffet, which was a huge hitting with our guests (I shared more on that here). The bride and groom trivia cards that entertained guests as they waited for the meal to brainstorm (more than on those here). And the booklet I gave our family and wedding party, which contained the schedule for the weekend and everyone's contact data.
These mementos were once tucked away in a plastic bag within my cedar chest. But now I display them equally art in our sleeping room!
You lot can easily brandish mementos from your hymeneals twenty-four hours, as well! I used 2 square shadow box frames, which are deep plenty to agree the 3-dimensional things that a regular picture frame tin't. Hither are some frames similar to the ones I used.
It took me a chip of finagling to get everything arranged within the shadow boxes. Basically, I divided my items in half since I had 2 frames to fill. I recommend removing the back of your frame and laying information technology on the table to use as an outline as you play around with the organization of everything.
Once you take an organisation yous like, yous'll have to recreate it inside the glass frame. This requires a flake of critical thinking since you need to layer things from front to back as y'all look at things from the backside. That'southward why I find it helpful to create your arrangement first. I used a few small pieces of pasty tack to adhere some of the items to each other so ane didn't skid behind the other when the frame was hung upwards.
Later on everything is in the shadow box, reattach the backing and flip it over to see the finished product! If things slide around or aren't positioned quite right, simply remove the backing of the frame to make adjustments.
And in that location you have information technology! This is a simple project that volition keep your favorite wedding memories on display for years to come! Don't forget you could as well incorporate actual photographs into your shadow box. Or apply your shadow box every bit role of a larger gallery wall of wedding ceremony memories!
